Although the Wauregan Grain Company was founded in 1983, the Bunn family has been a leader in the grain manufacturing business since 1945 when Ted Bunn purchased the Arlington Grain Company in Cranston, Rhode Island, from the Yantic Grain and Products Company- then known as Big Y Feeds of Norwich CT. Ted had worked for Yantic Grain and Products Company for 28 years before he made that purchase and began a strong commitment to producing high quality animal feeds for local farms.

After a fire completely destroyed the mill in 1960, Ted rebuilt a retail grain store at the site and continued the tradition of serving farms in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut that extends to today. Ted was joined in the business by his two sons, Ed and Dave, in 1970 and later acquired a property in Westerly, Rhode Island to further expand their services to closer to farming communitites.

In 1983, Ted and his sons capitalized on an opportunity to purchase another grain manufacturing facility from Blue Seal Feeds located in Wauregan, Connecticut, then known as the H.K. Webster Company.  After extensive repairs, remodeling and the addition of new equipment, the Wauregan Grain Company was established and began producing top quality animal feeds to service farms all over Southern New England and New York.

Today, Wauregan Grain products are sold and delivered in retail and bulk quantities throughout Southern New England and has expanded to include a bulk commodity transportation business.  Led by David Bunn and a dedicated staff, the Wauregan Grain Company stands ready to serve the agricultural community with top quality products and excellent service.
